This self-paced on-line course will be available from October 2, 2017 through November 2, 2017. The on-line course is available to all newly assign poll workers and is generally considered a prerequisite for all other elections training.

How often do I need to take the class?
A:

This course is divided into eight segments, nine for bilingual poll workers. Successful completion of this course is required for certification. Certification is valid for two years. Compensation for certification, a one-time fee of $50.00, will be paid after the certified individual works their first election. To register yourself or any of your poll workers for this on-line course please contact Maria Rose Gonzalez (281) 341-8638. A USERID and password are required in order to take this course.

 

Will I get paid for the on-line class?

Yes, compensation for certification, a one-time fee of $50.00, will be paid after the certified individual works their first election.
What is the "on-line" class?
A:
The “on-line” class is an interactive class (meaning you must participate) giving the student an overview of the Election Day process.  The course consists of a series of classes with interactive exercises and evaluations.
How long does it take to complete the class?
A:
The class is approximately 6 hours to complete.  For your convenience, you may start and stop at any point within the class and come back to it at your leisure. 
How do I register for the class?

What are the prerequisites?
A:
There are no prerequisites for taking the class.
What do I need to take the class?
A:
You will need a computer and internet access to take the on-line class.
How will you notify me that I am able to take the class?
A:
Once the Elections Department receives your registration information, you will be sent via email the internet address, user name, and password to take the class.  If you do not have an email address, we will contact you by phone.
Can I take the class anytime?
A:
You can start anytime once we have provided you with the internet address, user name, and password.
