Effective September 1, 2017, a $5.00 fee shall be collected on the filing of any civil action or proceeding requiring a filing fee, including an appeal, and on the filing of any Counterclaim, Cross-Action, Intervention, Interpleader, or Third Party Action requiring a filing fee, pursuant to Senate Bill No. 42; Chapter 51, Government Code is amended by adding Subchapter N – Additional Filing Fee for Judicial and Court Personnel Training

NOTICE - Transition to eService to Commence July 1, 2017 [PDF]

Effective July 1, 2017, in an effort to expedite service documents and to better serve you, the Fort Bend County District Clerk’s Office will electronically transmit to attorneys service documents issued by my office to be served by your preferred method. However, documents which are to be served by a Fort Bend County Constable or Sheriff will be forwarded to the appropriate agency for service provided the service fee has been paid or an Affidavit of Indigence is on file with our office. With this transition, we will no longer mail or hold service papers in our office.

Order Mandating Statewide Electronic Filing in Criminal Cases
Effective July 1, 2017

Order Mandating Statewide Electronic Service Address

All Attorneys:

Electronic Service Address – The Texas Supreme Court issued an order (Misc. Docket No. 16-9095 - Order Approving Amendments to the State Bar Rules) on June 14, 2016 requiring that all Texas attorneys provide the State Bar of Texas with an electronic service email address for use in the statewide e-filing system and for other important communications. Provide your electronic service address today at texasbar.com/eservice. Please read this article from the July 2016 Texas Bar Journal for more information.

On October 1, 2016 the statewide e-filing system will transition to the updated electronic service address from the State Bar of Texas site. The e-service public list on the statewide e-filing system will be maintained from the State Bar of Texas updates.

Notice to Attorney's / Pro Se Litigants

With the creation of the 505th District Court and in compliance with an Order from the Administrative Judge for the District Courts dated August 28, 2015; effective September 1, 2015 the 505th District Court will be randomly assigned 1/3 of pending and disposed family cases from the 328th District Court and 1/3 of pending and disposed family cases from the 387th District Court.
