Demand Response Service and the Greenway, Galleria, & TMC Commuter Services as well as all Fort Bend County offices will be CLOSED on Friday, July 3, 2015.

Fort Bend County officially formed a Public Transportation Department in June 2005 to provide residents with safe and efficient public transportation services while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction.


Demand Response Service

Public Transportation

Fort Bend County currently offers Demand Response Service to the citizens of Fort Bend County. The scheduled ride transportation service provides trips within Fort Bend County.

In order to schedule or cancel a ride you may call 866-751-TRIP between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday and ask for the “Fort Bend County Reservations.” Reservations can be made 30 days or up to 1 business day in advance of the appointment time. Fort Bend County Reservations will issue you a confirmation number. Be sure cancelations are received at least 24 hours before scheduled appointment time. If passenger is not ready or decides not to go, the trip will be considered a “no show” trip. If a passenger receives three “no show” trips in a one year period, their services can be suspended.

There are no transit services available on county holidays. Rides are typically scheduled for first “destination” drop-off by 8:00 AM and last pick-up will be no later than 5:00 PM. Repeat rides may be scheduled in advance. Rides will be accepted on a “time and space” available basis.

Trip fares are $1.00 per person each way. Passengers must be ready 15 minutes before scheduled pick up time. This is a curb-to-curb service; however, persons with disabilities can request door-to-door service. All passengers must wear seat restraints. Seat restraints must be provided for children 40 lbs or less. Passengers 12 years or younger must be accompanied by another person 18 years or older. Individuals unable to independently travel safely or securely regardless of age must be accompanied by an assistant. Commuter Park and Ride Services

Fort Bend County is pleased to offer Commuter Park and Ride Services that provide week day service to the Texas Medical Center, Greenway Plaza, and the Galleria. These services consists of rides from Fort Bend County Monday through Friday from between 4:40 AM to 8:30 AM and returns between 3:15 PM and 6:40 PM at 15 - 25 minute intervals. There is no weekend service currently.

Fort Bend County Public Transportation also offers Reverse Commute.  A reverse commute service is available with the Fort Bend County Express service. However, the reverse commute service is only accessible during certain times of the schedule. Please review the Reverse Commute Schedules listed below for each service.


Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC)

The Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) Program was established to address the unique transportation challenges faced by individuals in low income areas seeking to obtain and maintain employment. The JARC transportation service provides transportation for residents either participating in educational development programs or working. Transportation is provided to and from suburban employment opportunities for residents of urbanized areas.

The JARC transportation service functions as demand-response point deviation routes that provide trips within Fort Bend County. The routes operate on a flex-route and a set schedule; passengers may board and disembark at the set stop locations without a reservation or scheduled ride. These stops and times are posted below. JARC routes will also deviate from the route to transport scheduled demand response rides, when available. In order to qualify for a scheduled demand response ride on the JARC service the trip must be education or employment related. Point Deviation Route Service

Point Deviation Route Service operates along a fixed route and keeps to a timetable, but the bus or van can deviate from the route to go to a specific location, such as a house, child care center, or employment site. Once the pick-up or drop-off is made, the vehicle returns to the fixed route.

Trip fares are $1.00 per person each way.


New Freedom Transportation
Service for People with Disabilities

The New Freedom Transportation Service offers shared ride bus services to the citizens of Fort Bend County. The scheduled ride transportation service provides trips within Fort Bend County.

In order to schedule or cancel a ride you may call 866-751-TRIP between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and ask for the “Fort Bend County Reservations.” Reservations can be made 30 days or up to 1 business day in advance of the appointment time. Fort Bend County Reservations will issue you a confirmation number. Be sure cancellations are received more than 2 hours before scheduled appointment time. If passenger is not ready or decides not to go, the trip will be considered a “no show” trip. If a passenger receives three “no shows” in one year period, their services can be suspended.
