2013 "Community Operation" Back-To-School Health Fair

Parents and children from the community showed up in large numbers to attend the annual "Community Operation" Back-to-School Health Fair. The event was held on August 3, 2013 at the Fort Bend County Missouri City Annex in Precinct 2. Children 18 years and younger received free immunizations, free dental and vision screenings, free scoliosis screenings, and free back packs filled with school supplies. Precinct 2 Commissioner Grady Prestage, other local officials and businesses partnered with AccessHealth to ensure the health fair was a success.

Niagara Water Hosts Grand Opening

Niagara Bottling, LLC , the largest family-owned, private-label manufacturer of bottled water in the United States, and the City of Missouri City hosted an invitation-only Grand Opening and Open House at the company’s newly constructed 357,000 square-foot facility, on Friday, July 12, as Niagara officially “opens for business” in the Show Me City.  Commissioner Prestage, along with other elected officials were in attendance.

City of Meadows Place Holds 4th of July Parade

Commissioner Prestage had the opportunity to be a part of the annual 4th of July Parade hosted by the City of Meadows Place. With the theme "Best Hometown Parade Around," residents proudly flashed their red, white, and blue colors!

Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Kitty Hollow Bark Park

Fort Bend County officials and residents gathered on Saturday, March 23, 2013, to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Kitty Hollow Bark Park. The Kitty Hollow Bark Park is located inside of Kitty Hollow Park (across from Sienna Plantation), located at 9555 Highway 6, Missouri City, Texas 77459. This facility is Fort Bend County's first off-leash park built exclusively for dogs. The park is designed to accommodate both large and small breed dogs with identical fenced in areas that include: swimming ponds, dog wash, shaded areas, lots of open space for pets to run, and a walking trail for their owners to enjoy. Dedication Ceremony at Second Mile Mission Center

On February 19, 2013 Commissioner Prestage along with other elected officials and community residents attended the grand opening of the Second Mile Mission Center located at 1135 Highway 90A, Missouri City, Texas 77489. Replacing the previous location in Stafford, this 15,000 square-foot facility will include a warehouse to store donated goods, a food pantry, clothing room, medical and dental clinic and counseling offices to better address the needs of Fort Bend County residents. Fifth Street Project

Commissioner Prestage, on behalf of Fort Bend County has partnered with the University of Texas, through its Center for Sustainable Development, to form a grassroots planning committee to develop a Fifth Street Neighborhood Planning and Marketing Study. Commissioner Prestage understands that a more cohesive strategy is required to attract private investment, improve access to affordable housing, preserve the community's unique character and heritage, and revive a once sustainable community. 2012 "A Community Operation" Back-To-School Health Fair

The event was held on August 11, 2012 at the Fort Bend County Missouri City Annex in Precinct 2. This year's health fair was cleverly themed "A Community Operation" based on the popular Hasbro game Operation. Children 18 years and younger received free immunizations, free dental and vision screenings, free scoliosis screenings, and free back packs filled with school supplies. Precinct 2 Commissioner Grady Prestage, other local officials and businesses partnered with the Fort Bend Family Health Center to ensure the health fair was a success.

"Encourage The Vote" Kick-Off Breakfast

On Saturday, September 15th, Fort Bend County Commissioner Grady Prestage hosted his "Encourage the Vote" kick-off breakfast at the Alpha Center in Missouri City. The purpose of the event was to initiate a call to action to register as many residents as possible in Fort Bend County around a central theme. There were over 50 people in attendance that represented many different organizations in Fort Bend County. The event was a success and over 3000 voter registration cards were passed out to attendees to utilize in registering voters.
