Bioterrorism - Fort Bend county and the entire nation have recently been made aware of the very real threat of terrorism. The Fort Bend County Bioterrorism Task Force has been actively engaged in preparedness planning for county residents. Please look for our upcoming website dedicated to Fort Bend bioterrorism preparedness and response very soon. Functional Needs Support Services - Program to assist people with functional and medical needs in the county during an emergency or natural disaster.  During a disaster or an emergency, people with functional and medical needs may require assistance if they experience power outages, need medications or need medical support.

Mosquito Surveillance - Mosquito-borne encephalitis viruses affect the well-being of Fort Bend county residents and represent a continuing public health threat. Although most attention is given to these infectious diseases when explosive outbreaks occur, scattered cases are reported each year. Fort Bend County Health & Human Services and Road and Bridge Departments have undertaken mosquito surveillance in a coordinated effort. NACo Prescription Discount Card Program - The NACo Prescription Discount Card is provided to you in a joint effort of your local county government and the National Association of Counties (NACo). Any county resident without prescription coverage can use this program. Even if you have prescription insurance coverage, you may still benefit from the discount card since it may save you money on prescriptions your existing plan does not cover.

Public Health Preparedness - The Public Health Preparedness (PHP) program is part of Fort Bend County Health and Human Services and coordinates planning and program development within the County. PHP works with local and state officials, local partners, and private industry to develop workable solutions to protect the public health of Fort Bend County residents from the impact of natural or man-made emergencies. It is PHP's mission to improve county response capabilities through all hazards planning, disease surveillance and epidemiology, public information, and community development.
