Captain Cheryl Hillegeist is the Division Commander for the Inmate Processing Unit, Bonding, Reception and Facility Cleanliness.
The I.P.U. Unit is responsible for processing individuals in to, and out of the facility on charges ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. The Bonding Unit is responsible for processing bonds for the release of an individual.
Captain Hillegeist is also responsible to ensure that the facility maintains a high level of cleanliness.
Captain Hillegeist began her career in 1983 with the Texas Department of Corrections. She joined the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office in March of 1998. While assigned to the Detention Division she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in January of 2009. In January of 2009 she was then appointed to the rank of Lieutenant. In March of 2015 she was appointed to Captain.
Captain Hillegeist has attended Central Texas College, Houston Community College, Lone Star College, and Wharton Jr. College. She earned her Peace Officer Certification in 1999. She holds numerous certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) including her Certified Instructors Certificate, Jail Administrator Certificate, and her Master Peace Officer Certificate.
