OFFICE CLOSURE Through April 3

In compliance with County Judge KP George’s Stay Home to Save Lives order, the Fort Bend County Tax Office is closed through April 3, 2020 effective immediately. We hope to resume normal operations on Monday, April 6th

CONTACT THE TAX OFFICE VIA EMAIL: While we are not on site to answer phone calls, we are monitoring the Tax Office email account throughout the day. Please feel free to email us at with any auto or property tax questions.

You can still go online and process many types of transactions.  For more information on how to conduct auto or property tax transactions during the closure, please review our COVID-19 pages in the left navigation bar.

QUARTER PAY DUE DATE: For residents who pay their property taxes in installments, the second payment due date is Tuesday, March 31, 2020. While we are not able to accept payments in person, you may submit your payment online, by mail, or in one of our six drop boxes. Please note that penalties and interest will apply to payments received or postmarked after March 31. As a reminder to customers making quarter payments, one of the benefits is that interest and penalties will not apply to the third and fourth installments if those are paid in a timely manner.

ONLINE PAYMENT UPDATE:  Some customers have experienced their browsers stall when being redirected from the selection of their property accounts to the payment website. In this instance, it may be necessary to clear the internet browser’s cache before attempting payment again. The process for clearing cache is browser specific, so customers are encouraged to obtain cache clearing instructions for their particular internet browser.
