Since its inception in 1990, East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry has been serving the basic needs of families in financial crisis. Hundreds of volunteers working in this community utilize their time and talent daily with a "neighbor helping neighbor" concept to make a real difference in the lives of children. East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc., is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization.
Food Pantry services are provided to families and individuals living in East Fort Bend County. Referrals may come from area congregations or local social service agencies. Clients are seen on a first come, first served basis. Trained interviewers asses each situation to determine how they can best be served. Each nutritionally complete food order is tailored to the size and any special needs of each household. Food Pantry assistance is currently limited to four full orders per year. Supplemental orders are available on Fridays.
Holiday food baskets are distributed during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and include everything needed to cook a holiday dinner, including a turkey. Clients are required to sign up to receive a holiday basket on a specified day and then return to pick them up on a designated day prior to the holiday.
