Serving Richmond and Rosenberg

On Tuesday, April 14, 2015, Commissioners Court approved the Interlocal Agreements to provide transit services to the citizens of the cities of Richmond and Rosenberg.

Some of the existing Demand Response Service in the Richmond / Rosenberg area will be converted to Point Deviation Route Service. Transportation will be provided 252 (service) days of the year (excluding county holidays and emergency closures).

Point Deviation Route Service operates along a fixed route and keeps to a timetable, but the bus or van can deviate from the route to go to a specific location, such as a house, child care center, or employment site if a reservation is made in advance.  The bus can deviate up to ¾ of a mile from its route.  Once the pick-up or drop-off is made, the vehicle returns to the fixed route.

In order to schedule a ride on our point deviation route you may call 866-751-TRIP between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday and ask for the “Fort Bend County Reservations.” Reservations can be made 30 days or up to 1 business day in advance of the appointment time. Be sure cancellations are received before 5:00pm on the prior business day of the scheduled trip. If passenger is not ready or decides not to go, the trip will be considered a “no show” trip. If a passenger receives six “no show” or "late-cancellation" trips in a ninety (90) day period, their services will results in a thirty (30) day suspension.  A late cancel, cancel at door and/or no show trip will not count against the passenger when it is an error on Fort Bend Transportation’s part.  Examples of this would be if it is determined to be a reservation error, driver arrives outside the window of the scheduled pickup time and/or driver does not wait five minutes after arriving for pickup.
There are no transit services available on county holidays. Rides are typically scheduled for first “destination” drop-off by 8:00 AM and last pick-up will be no later than 5:00 PM. Repeat rides may be scheduled in advance. Rides will be accepted on a “time and space” available basis.
