Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA2) Program

If you are a Fort Bend County resident in need of assistance and meet the program eligibility requirements, you are encouraged to apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA2) Program. The ERA2 Program provides rent and utility assistance for up to 18 months or until funds are exhausted. Monthly assistance is available up to $2,000 for rent and $500 for utilities. ERA2 Program Criteria:
- Must be a Fort Bend County resident
- Current household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
- Inability to pay bills due to job loss, income reduction, furlough, or reduced hours directly or indirectly caused by the economic impact of COVID-19
- Not currently receiving rental assistance from any other source for the same period requested from this program and have not reached the 18-month limit on previously paid assistance
Required Documents:
- Government Issued photo ID
- Tax return of all working household members over the age of 18 for the years of 2022 or 2023
- Full Lease agreement
- Current Rent Ledger
- Current/most recent utility bills
- Late or eviction notice
- Self-attestation of proof of income reduction directly or indirectly due to COVID-19 impact
- If all documents cannot be provided, self-attestation or affidavit can be issued by case manager
