Judge Hanna earned his BS in Criminal Justice from Texas State University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. He has been a public servant his entire career as was first an Assistant County Attorney and then Assistant District Attorney for Matagorda County before moving to Fort Bend. Judge Hanna became a prosecutor with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office in 1998. He spent time in various positions including serving as the Chief of the Narcotics Division, Deputy Chief of the Felony Division and then as the Chief of Special Crimes. He is a seasoned trial lawyer as has tried approximately 100 cases ranging from class B misdemeanor offenses to Capital Murder cases throughout his career. Judge Hanna is Board Certified in Criminal Law and was instrumental in the development and operation of Fort Bend County’s first treatment court, Drug Court. He has regularly taught at the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy and has presented at continuing legal education seminars for both the Texas State Bar and the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association.
Judge Hanna has lived in Fort Bend County for over 30 years with his wife and raised his two children here. He is a member of River Point Church and actively involved in various community organizations including serving as a Board Member of the Exchange Club of Fort Bend County. Judge Hanna has a passion for public service and is committed to serving Fort Bend County with integrity.
