It will take time for the Ebola outbreaks to be controlled in West Africa. Health care providers here in Texas continue to follow standard infection control practices to avoid contact with blood or body fluids. They are also asking sick patients about recent travel to make sure they can rule out Ebola. Fort Bend County Health & Human Services will continue to monitor the Ebola cases in the United States and the outbreak in West Africa. We are working with local health authorities and jurisdictions as well as state and federal partners such as the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We consistently provide updates to the public and health care providers as needed and all releases of information can be found on our website at http://www.fortbendcountyhhs.com.
