Backyard Basics – Preserving the Bounty (Pickling & Pressure Canning)

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will conduct a 3-hour Preserving the Bounty workshop on pickling and pressure canning for home consumption on Thursday, March 26, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Fort Bend County Extension Office in Rosenberg. Registration ends Thursday, March 19th.

An abundance of home grown fruits and vegetables often triggers the desire to can foods at home. Home Food Preservation classes show how this can be a fun and rewarding way to keep foods long after the season ends. Research based methods and tested recipes are taught to assure that foods canned at home are safe to eat.
