Kids & Cops offers many programs to help kids learn gang and drug prevention, crime prevention and all kinds of safety. The following are some of the programs offered to Fort Bend County youth through Kids & Cops, Inc.

 

Summer Camp

During the summer months, Fort Bend County Kids & Cops, Inc. will provide several weekly summer camps for children ages 10-12 years of age. The purpose of each camp is promote leadership skills, boost self-esteem and to advocate teamwork. We will provide an atmosphere that will be positive and highly motivating. The camps are for Fort Bend, Needville and Lamar Consolidated I.S.D. students.

 

Anti-Drug Education

As an avenue for youth of Fort Bend County reaching their goals, Kids & Cops, Inc. has programs to address every educational level. At the Elementary school level, students master concepts including Peer Pressure, Learning Resistance Techniques, Consequences, Risk, Dealing with Stress, Resisting Gangs, Alternatives to Drug Use, and Making a Commitment. The Middle School program addresses issues including Responsibility, Conflict Resolution, Smoking Truth or Dare, and Juvenile Law. The High School program continues reinforcement with two lessons which include: The Dangers of Drinking & Driving and Teens & Violence.

Children also learn about the 911 Emergency System as well as bicycle safety, stranger danger, traffic safety, drug prevention and personal safety tips.
