Feral Hog Biology and Management Presentation

Mar. 06, 2015, 5:00 - 7:00 AM
Location
Fort Bend County Library- Sienna Branch

Feral Hogs

Feral hogs are an exotic invasive species which threaten both land and water resources throughout the state. Evidence of feral hog activity has become more common in urban and suburban areas within the last five years. “As the development of residential communities continues, the local feral hog populations can become displaced and will tend to migrate into populated areas causing a variety of damages” Boone Holladay, County Extension Agent in Rosenberg said.

Residents of Fort Bend, Waller, Brazoria, Harris and surrounding counties are invited to attend a presentation covering Feral Hog Behavioral Drivers and Feral Hog Damage Abatement Strategies presented by Mark Tyson, a wildlife specialist from the Wildlife and Fisheries Extension Unit at Texas A&M University. “Both landowners and members of the public will walk away from this presentation equipped with knowledge and resources that they can use to reduce the negative impacts of feral hogs in southeast Texas. This presentation should be of interest to anyone affected by feral hogs” said Mark Tyson.

This presentation is sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board.

Program attendees will earn a total of two (2) hours of CEU Credits. One (1) hour in Integrated Pest Management, and one (1) hour in General.
