Fort Bend County Commissioners Court has authorized the adoption of a family protection fee set by statute as $15.00. The District Clerk collects this fee when someone files a suit for the dissolution of a marriage under Chapter 6, Family Code. The Fort Bend County Commissioners Court is seeking one non-profit organization located in Fort Bend County that provides direct services for the prevention or intervention against family violence or the abuse or neglect of a child. An agency that provides services through another third-party non-profit will not be eligible for the funds.

The amount of funding available for Fiscal Year 2023 is $9,559.65.

The FY 2023 application deadline is February 28, 2023.

* With the passing of Senate Bill 41, the fee set will no longer be collected.
