Corporal Edward Rector
Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Bailiff
281-403-8112
Precinct 2 Deputies are assigned to Justice of the Peace JP 2 Courts as Bailiffs. These deputies are the law enforcement arm peace officers of the court. They keep order in the court, serve legal process or other court documents, and take charge of juries when the court is not in session. Also, bailiffs provide general security for the courthouse and its staff.
Constable Precinct 2 has created a new program that will be implemented in all Fort Bend County Precinct 2 neighborhoods. The program consists of a deputy educating and safeguarding the community by spot checking parked vehicles and placing a “Vehicle Security Report Card” on them as a courtesy. This is NOT a ticket and there is no need to contact the Constable’s office if one is received, because the card will simply be marked as PASSED or FAILED based on the vehicle’s susceptibility to theft. Theft of items from vehicles is an all too frequent property crime that often stems from unlocked vehicles and is easy for the owner to prevent. The “Vehicle Security Report Card” along with a “Vehicle Tip Card” will increase community awareness regarding how to safeguard their personal belongings. The development of this program is a great example of the Constable’s Office constant efforts to achieve the number one goal of delivering effective and efficient service to the local community.

We are proud to work with the citizens of Fort Bend County Precinct 2 in providing supplemental patrol through our contract deputy program. Currently, we have deputies who patrol the following areas:
The deputies provide supplemental law enforcement in those areas through a contract between the Constable’s Office and the Homeowner’s or Property Owner’s Association of a subdivision, Municipal Utility Districts, or the Fort Bend Toll Road Authority.
Our Office has seen remarkable success with the program, as is the result of our highly-trained deputies and outstanding community relations. We maintain a proactive stance on crime, focusing on prevention, community involvement and education, rather than a reactive response. The contracting governing board is provided a comprehensive report of all activity performed by all deputies in their patrol contract and are constantly updated on any crime problems we encounter.
