Rules for Attire:  ALL PERSONS entering the Court must be dressed appropriately. The following is not appropriate courtroom attire:

  • Cropped belly shirts/blouses/tops (middrift is exposed)
  • Very low-cut shirts/blouses
  • Sagging pants without a belt
  • Extremely “short” shorts/dresses/skirts
  • Muscle shirts
  • Baseball caps (men/women)
  • Men’s hats, caps, head wraps
  • Hair bonnets
  • Pajamas
  • Clothing with offensive, vulgar, racist, sexist, or obscene language; this  includes slogans, depictions, or pictures that are offensive, vulgar, racist, sexist or obscene

Questions/inquiries regarding the rules for attire may be shared with the Bailiff, Constable or Court Staff.
  
Conduct within the Courthouse/Adjacent Areas:

  1. WEAPONS are PROHIBITED in the Courtroom/Building with the EXCEPTION of LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL. 
  2. ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL with pending court matters must check in with our Bailiff/Deputy/Constable if in possession of a service weapon or other weapon when entering the building.
  3. All cellular phones must be on silent.
  4. Please check in with the court if you are running late.
  5. Follow all instructions given by the Bailiff/Sheriff/Constable.
  6. No Gum, Food, or Drinks inside the Courtroom.
  7. Please try not to disrupt court proceedings with excessive entering and exiting.
  8. All property in the Court, restrooms and adjacent areas must be treated with respect. 
  9. No recording devices are allowed without judicial approval.
  10. Please be polite and respectful at all times. We expect the same of our court staff.

Conduct During Remote Proceedings (Webex)

  1. Please add your full name (first, last) as it appears on your case when logging in on your device  for Webex or Zoom.
  2. Do not use “nicknames” or phone names (for example John’s iPhone) when you are logged on Webex or Zoom for a court appearance.
  3. Please find a quiet spot with no background noise when attending remotely. 
  4. Please do not drive while you are on Zoom or Webex. You must be parked.
  5. You must be properly dressed for court if you appear remotely. Please see rules for court room attire (above).
