(FORT BEND, TX) – Fort Bend County Judge KP George will hold a press conference on Thursday, October 19, at 1:30 p.m., at the Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management, 307 Fort St., Richmond, TX 77469, to discuss the Mobility and Parks Bond proposal that will go before voters on November 7.
The Bonds contain a total of 98 projects, which include a Mobility Bond, valued at $712 million, and the Parks Bond, totaling
$153 million, which aim to support the growth of the county and improve the quality of life for its residents.
Fort Bend County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States, it is the 8th largest county in Texas with nearly 900,000 people. Between 2020 and 2021 the population of Fort Bend County, TX grew from 790,892 to 806,497. The population is expected to reach one million people by 2026.
“We have been hosting community meetings throughout the county to provide residents information on the proposed bond projects, answer questions, and address the distorted messages that are being spread about the bonds,” stated Judge George. “The proposed bond initiatives represent a significant investment in the county's future.
In addition to Judge George, featured speakers will include County Engineers, representation from the Parks Department, and the County Auditor.

Fort Bend County Judge KP George Honors Hispanic Heritage Month with Annual Celebration
Fort Bend County to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Festival at Historic Courthouse
(FORT BEND, TX) – Fort Bend County is proud to announce its annual Hispanic Heritage Festival on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Historic Fort Bend County Courthouse at 401 Jackson St., Richmond, TX 77469. The vibrant celebration will showcase the rich culture and contributions of the Hispanic community in Fort Bend County.
This free, family-friendly event will feature a range of activities, including traditional dance performances, live mariachi music, a bounce house, a petting zoo, food trucks, and various vendors offering goods and services.
A special highlight of the event will be the honoring of Cesar Espinosa, the Executive Director of FIEL, an immigrant led civil rights organization, for his advocacy and contributions to the Hispanic community. In addition, Fort Bend County employees of Hispanic heritage will also be recognized for their dedication and service to the county.
