Judge KP George's annual competition invites Fort Bend County students in grades 4th through 12th to write an original essay with a minimum of 300 words and a maximum of 500 words based on the prompt provided.

Students who produce the winning essay in the elementary, middle, and high school categories will have the distinguished honor of presenting their written work at the esteemed Fort Bend County Judge KP George's Annual Black History Program scheduled for February 18, 2024, at the Fort Bend County Black History Gumbo Cook-Off and Vendor Market at 2:00 p.m.

This cherished community event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the historic Fort Bend County Courthouse, located at 401 Jackson Street, Richmond, TX 77469. Hosted by the Office of the County Judge and the County Attorney's Office, this gathering in the courthouse's grand rotunda is a perfect way to celebrate the holiday season. Enjoy delightful refreshments and desserts as we light up the Christmas tree, bringing joy and warmth to our community.
