The purpose of the Emergency Solutions Grant program is to assist individuals and families quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness.
The objectives of the program are to improve the quality of existing emergency shelters for the homeless, to make available additional emergency shelters, to meet the costs of operating emergency shelters and to provide certain essential social services to homeless individuals and families and those at risk of becoming homeless.
