The Civil Service Commission is for Sheriff’s Office full time employees only, and is not a department of the Sheriff’s Office. The Civil Service does not serve the public with legal documents such as subpoenas or summons. If you wish to have a document served please contact the Sheriff’s Office or the Constable’s Office in the area to be served.

During office closures and/ or holidays please email or leave a voice message as messages are checked regularly.

If you are a fulltime employee of the Sheriff’s Office of 12 months or more and you wish to file an appeal for a Suspension, Demotion or Termination, please locate the Appeal Forms , complete the forms in full and email the forms and any additional information such as disciplinary memos etc. Please noted, appeals are time sensitive and must be filed within 10 working days of the final decision of the Sheriff’s Office, no exceptions will be made. Once the appeal is received by the CSC office, you and/ or your attorney will receive an email confirming receipt. Please email the forms to the below email:

You may also hand deliver an appeal/ documents in a sealed envelope to the Civil Service Office, see address below. If the office is closed, please leave the sealed envelope with either Donna Silewicz or Julie Kassab at GGLEA. Before leaving the envelope,please have either Donna Silewicz or Julie Kassab date/ time stamp the envelope before you leave the packet, the document(s) will beprocessed once the office opens for business. It is your responsibility to follow through with the CSC office to confirm receipt of the appeal, no exceptions to the 10 day rule will be made.
