Effective 7/1/2021 Plat submittals for Map Clearance Tax Certificates / Tax Research Release forms are now emailed to GISENGINEER@FORTBENDCOUNTYTX.GOV. Attach a DWG and PDF of the proposed final plat in your email submission.
After the Tax Office receives the email from the Fort Bend County Engineering Office confirming the account numbers, the Tax Office will notify you by email of the amount due for the TC(s) along with a Master Account Number. You must use this Master Account Number to pay the charges online. You may pay by credit card, convenience fee of 2.09% or minimum of $1.00 will apply, or by E-check at no fee.
You will need to notify the Tax Office at fbcmapclearance@fortbendcountytx.gov once the payment is made so we can begin the research. The Tax Certificates(s) and the Review Form will be emailed to you and the Fort Bend County Engineer's office in no less than five days after payment is submitted.
The Map Clearance Tax Certificates are no longer embossed with the County Seal, only a signature. The Map Clearance Tax Certificate we email will be considered the original. We will no longer charge for duplicates as you can print out another original if you need one.
