All items on the application must be complete before a Development Permit is issued. Construction may only begin after obtaining a Development Permit.
Fort Bend County (unincorporated areas) has not adopted building codes. Please refer to the current JBC or contract your HOA. If you are in an ETJ, please contact that city. The granting of a Development Permit by the Fort Bend County Engineering Department should not be in any way considered by the permittee as an exemption from existing easement requirements, applicable subdivision covenants or deed restrictions, or any other Fort Bend County department regulations or permits.

A Development Permit must be obtained to ensure the methods used will minimize potential flood damage. Request floodplain information.
Fort Bend County has requirements for obtaining a permit for the construction of driveways on FM 1093. The applicant will submit the permit request through TxDOT. TxDOT will then forward the permit to Fort Bend County for review and concurrence. Driveway spacing and right turn lane requirements will be reviewed based on these policy and procedures. A scoping meeting with Fort Bend County Engineering is recommended before site planning begins.
Compliance with all applicable Regulations and permit requirements of other Local, State, and Federal agencies is required before issuance of a Development Permit.
