FBC Alert: Opt-In Alerts
We cannot warn you if we cannot reach you! Sign up today for FBC Alert to receive alerts, warnings, and notifications from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Our opt-in system, powered by Everbridge, lets you customize how you get alerts--by phone, email, or mobile app--and choose the types of notifications you want. These messages supplement, but do not repalace, Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) or Emergency Alert System (EAS) messages for life-saving information.
Deaf Link AHAS™ provides the same alerts and warnings as FBC Alert, delivered to internet- and video-capable devices, including computers, tablets, and mobile phones. Fort Bend Alert subscribers in an area affected by an emergency or disaster can receive accessible alert messages in American Sign Language (ASL) as well as English and Spanish voice and text. Alerts are also accessible to Braille readers, and may include information about the emergency and recommended actions to take.
Fort Bend County Homeland Security & Emergency Management, in partnership with the Fire Marshal's Office and EMS, has developed a mobile app for timely emergency information. The app provides push notifications for weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service and delivers important updates on events, incidents, river conditions, and preparedness resources. You can also access county webpages and social media directly from the app.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office App is a centralized platform for accessing information, services, and updates related to the Sheriff's Office and public safety in the region. Key features include real-time emergency alerts via push notifications and regularly updated blog posts. Residents can also use the app to report non-emergency incidents, offering a convenient and efficient way to communicate with law enforcement.
Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS)
Fort Bend County is an authorized alerting authority with IPAWS, the nationwide system for delivering emergency messages. Through IPAWS, you may receive:
Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA): Short, location-based messages automatically sent to compatible cell phones. Examples include severe weather warnings, AMBERT alerts, or critical local emergencies.
Emergency Alert System (EAS): Broadcast alerts sent through TV and radio to quickly reach the public with life-saving information.
These alerts do not require sign-up and are designed to ensure everyone can receive critical warnings when it matters most.
