Who Qualifies

CRITICAL LOAD PUBLIC SAFETY CUSTOMER

Facilities for which electric service is crucial for public safety, such as:

  • Hospitals
  • Police Stations
  • Fire Stations
  • Water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Other essential public-safety infrastructures

CRITICAL LOAD INDUSTRIAL CUSTOMER

Industrial facilities where interruption or suspension of electric service could create a dangerous or life-threatening condition on the premises.

What Designation Means

  • If approved as a Critical Load Customer (Public Safety or Industrial), you qualify for advance notifications of planned interruptions or suspensions of service.
  • Important: Designation does not guarantee uninterrupted electricity.
  • Customers are responsible for arranging backup power sources (e.g., generators) or other alternatives in case of outages or "load shed" events.

How to Submit

  2. Provide the required data about your facility and its electric service needs.
  3. Submit the form. County emergency management staff will review your submission.
