The Analyst is responsible for providing crime intelligence in order to prevent and solve crime. The analyst conducts research to provide actionable information by identifying and analyzing methods of operation of individual criminals, providing crime pattern recognition and providing analysis of data from offense reports.
The Analyst is an adjunct member of the Houston Regional Intelligence Service Center (HRISC) a fusion center. The purpose of which is to coordinate and collaborate with multiple levels of law enforcement agencies to improve crime-fighting, counterterrorism and anti-terrorism capabilities.
