Kitty Hollow Bark Park

This facility is Fort Bend’s first off-leash Park built exclusively for our four- legged family members. The Park is designed to accommodate both large and small breed dogs with mirroring fenced in areas that include: swimming ponds, agility equipment, dog wash, shaded areas, lots of open space for pets to run, and a walking trail for their owners to enjoy.

Indigent Health Care

The County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP) is mandated by the Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act of 1985. The mission of the County Indigent Health Care Department is to provide a quality consumer-sensitive holistic approach to the Health & Human Services to keep pace with the county's growth and an emphasis on education and prevention. Services will be well coordinated, accessible, adequately financed, and effective at helping our citizens gain the maximum degree of personal independence from health and social service systems that they are capable of achieving. A potential client must be a Fort Bend County resident.

Clinical Health Services

Fort Bend County Clinical Health Services Department provides clinical services in the core public health areas of STD treatment, tuberculosis prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and provision of childhood and adult immunizations. The Mission of Clinical Health Services is to prevent, control and eliminate communicable diseases among residents of Fort Bend County. The department provides the following services:

A Positive Place for Kids

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides an open door policy facility, professional staff, unique programs and a fun environment, to assist youth in developing self-esteem and life skills. We serve children ages 6-17 and provide programs in the areas of character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, sports, fitness, and recreation.

Membership

Membership costs just $5 per school year and $20 per summer, and we accept applications for children ages 6-17.  

The Mission

To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Fort Bend Seniors

Meals on Wheels

Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels serves all senior citizens age 60 and over living in Fort Bend and Waller Counties. For all active seniors, we provide hot meals and daily recreation activities at 12 congregate center locations throughout both counties. For home-bound seniors, we provide daily and weekly hot meal deliveries throughout Fort Bend and Waller Counties through a network of staff and volunteer drivers regardless of income.

Fort Bend County has a large and growing population of citizens aged 60 years and above. Nearly ten percent are prevented from working and live at or below the poverty level. Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels (FBS) currently provides services to 1.2 percent of this group of citizens.

FBS provide's services at 12 congregate center locations in Fort Bend and Waller Counties, which are open Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Centers located in or near Precinct 2 are:

  • Meal Delivery
  • Packing Meals
  • Assisting with arts and crafts
  • Hosting exercise or dance classes
  • Serving on our speaker bureau
  • Hold a donation drive
  • Telephone assurance
  • Providing clerical assistance
  • Organizing outside fundraising events

This facility, which is the County’s first LEED certified building, is a joint project between the City of Houston and Fort Bend County. The site is located in the portion of the county that is within the Houston city limits. This facility is a symbol of progress, growth and concern among city and county leadership for the areas aging population. The City of Houston Health and Human Services Department provide Public Health Nursing, Wellness, and Dental Services.

The PINNACLE Center includes:

  • State-of-the-art Wi-Fi Internet Café
  • Fitness Center
  • Fitness Classes – Tai Chi, Weight Training, Zumba, and Yoga
  • Dance Classes – Line Dancing, Two Stepping and Swing Out
  • ESL Classes through the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County
  • Veterans Assistance & Social Service Assistance
  • Financial Planning on the 1st Friday of each month
  • Breakfast with a Broker on 3rd Mondays of each month
  • Podiatry Day on 4th Mondays of each month
  • Knowledge is POWER DAY

The PINNACLE Center is free for use to Fort Bend and City of Houston residents that are ages 50 and above.
