Important Notice:

Effective December 4, 2025, SB16 amended Local Government Code 191.010 (b) to state that the County Clerk shall require a person presenting a document in person for recording in the real property record of the county to present a photo ID to the clerk, and the clerk shall copy the photo ID or record the information from the photo ID. The clerk may not charge a person a fee to copy or record the information from a photo ID.
