 Passport Services: Due to COVID-19, the Fort Bend County District Clerk’s office has temporarily suspended all passport processing effective March 17, 2020 until further notice. If you have further questions, please contact our office at 281-341-4509.

 Jury Duty: Jury service has been suspended for all District and County Courts through April 10, 2020. If you are scheduled for jury service at the Fort Bend County Justice Center do not report for jury service at your summoned location. 

 If you are scheduled for jury service in a Justice of the Peace Court, please contact that court for further instructions and updates.

The Fort Bend County District Clerk’s Office is transitioning towards paperless case files for Civil and Criminal cases. Family cases are paperless and have been successfully operating in the courtroom without a physical case file. This means paper case files will no longer be available for viewing in the courtrooms nor in the District Clerk’s Office.

Case files can be viewed via public online access through our website or in-person by utilizing public access terminals located in the District Clerk’s Office.

Notice to Attorney's / Pro Se Litigants

With the creation of the 458th District Court and in compliance with an Order from the Administrative Judge for the District Courts dated August 18, 2017; effective September 18, 2017 twenty percent (20%) of all pending civil and criminal cases on the dockets of the 240th, 268th, 400th, and 434th Judicial
District Courts will be transferred to the 458th Judicial District Court.

Effective September 1, 2017, a $5.00 fee shall be collected on the filing of any civil action or proceeding requiring a filing fee, including an appeal, and on the filing of any Counterclaim, Cross-Action, Intervention, Interpleader, or Third Party Action requiring a filing fee, pursuant to Senate Bill No. 42; Chapter 51, Government Code is amended by adding Subchapter N – Additional Filing Fee for Judicial and Court Personnel Training.
