The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for development and maintenance of 5 active parks, 3 leased parks and 4 community centers in Fort Bend County.

The Parks and Recreation Department was established in October of 1995 by Fort Bend Commissioners Court. We have approximately 2,461 acres of park land in which over 2,200 acres are wet lands. We currently have a total of 13 employees in the department.

We also sponsor Fort Bend County's summer lunch program from June to August, which is funded through the Texas Department of Human Services. We serve over 3,000 youth through this program at various site grounds in Fort Bend County.
