Daily Park Orienteering

Welcome to the Daily Park orienteering course, Fort Bend County Parks and Recreation. This course is very fun but also a little challenging and will make your visit much more worthwhile.

What is Orienteering?

Orienteering is a type of navigation that utilizes a compass and map. Anyone can
partake in orienteering whether you are a professional or a family that is visiting the park simply looking for some fun. Orienteering will help improve your map reading and navigation skills, which are always very useful to have in case you explore a more remote area with limited features.

About this course?

This is a permanent course at this park that consists of wooden posts with markers
attached to indicate and identify each marker. The attached map serves as a guide to
help locate and plug in GPS coordinates if necessary. Each marker will also have a letter
attached that will be used to decode a word at the end of your adventure. This course
helps accommodate all kinds of skill levels and is sure to provide an amazing opportunity.
