                                                                                                DEFERRING YOUR JURY SERVICE

Please scan the QR Code on your jury summons or visit the eResponse website at https://www.fbctx.gov/jury-eresponse for information to defer your jury service. The questionnaire must be completed and submitted to receive the ability to defer your service. Once submitted, select "Defer Service".

                                                                                          BEFORE REPORTING FOR JURY SERVICE

You are instructed to check your status on the eResponse website at https://www.fbctx.gov/jury-eresponse or call (281) 972-2721 anytime after 5:00 PM the evening before you are scheduled to appear for service. The automated message will tell you if there has been a change in your jury service. It is sometimes necessary to cancel or reschedule a jury panel, so you MUST CALL to receive final instructions.

                                                                                     EXCUSAL REQUESTS (EXEMPTED OR DISQUALIFIED)

To claim an exemption or report your disqualification you must complete the juror questionnaire by visiting the eResponse website at https://www.fbctx.gov/jury-eresponse

NOTE: You do not have to claim an exemption and may instead choose to serve. However, if you do not meet all of the qualifications, you MUST claim that you are disqualified. If you claim to be disqualified because you are not a resident of this county, you may become ineligible to vote in this county. If you state that you are not a U.S. citizen, you may no longer be eligible to vote if you fail to provide proof of U.S. citizenship to your county voter registrar.
