The Fort Bend County Fire Marshal is the authority having jurisdiction for the unincorporated areas of Fort Bend County. It is the responsibility of the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal to review plans for Site/Civil, construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. The Fire Marshal’s Office also has the responsibility to review fire alarm and fire protections systems in new and existing facilities in unincorporated Fort Bend County.
As of October 1, 2023 unincorporated Fort Bend County will utilize the 2021 International Fire Code, related Local Amendments and the Fort Bend County Fire Code [PDF].
