Before It's Too Late
The Before It’s Too Late educational prevention program was created in 1999 by a partnership of the Fort Bend Partnership for Youth, Inc., the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Department and The George Foundation. The Student’s Guide to Texas Juvenile Law is an informative 17-page booklet for 5th – 8th graders and consists of the juvenile law and how it can affect youth.
This innovative, unique program was started in Lamar Consolidated ISD and ultimately grew to every school district in Fort Bend County. The Juvenile Outreach Office of the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office now presents Before It’s Too Late material to 4th-8th graders as well as Now That You’re 10 information for 4th graders.
