MOBILE FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS

Taco Truck

A Department of State Health Services (DSHS) license is required to operate a Mobile Food Unit in Fort Bend County.  Fort Bend County is contracted to do pre-licensing inspections for DSHS.  Mobile Unit pre-licensing inspections are done each Wednesday and by appointment only. 

 

Due to the upcoming holidays, pre-licensing inspections are rescheduled as follows: 

  • Wednesday, November 11, 2026 Holiday - We will be conducting inspections Monday,  11/9/2026.
  • Wednesday, November 25, 2026 Holiday - We will be conducting inspections Monday, 11/23/2026.
  • Wednesday, December 23, 2026 Holiday - We will be conducting inspections Monday,  12/21/2026

 

In addition, the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal requires a yearly Mobile Food Unit Life Safety Inspection. The following list contains all of the documents and resources to assist with any questions:
