Thinking about adopting a shelter pet, but not sure about finding the right match for you and your family? Fort Bend County Animal Services offers a Foster to Adopt program that lets potential adopters house an animal temporarily — generally over a one week period, to see if that animal is a good fit with family members and even other pets.
This program is designed to give potential adopters more time and experience with an animal before they make a lifetime commitment.
If you’re interested in fostering to adopt a pet, please visit during kennel hours to discuss the program. The pet that you choose will be fully vetted before going into your home. You’ll be asked to provide other pet necessities such as collars, leashes, crates, food bowls and, most importantly, love and affection. Please note that at this time, FBCAS cannot reimburse for medical costs so if you have a medical issue, we will ask that you contact us immediately at the shelter.
When you choose to adopt, you can return to FBCAS to complete the adoption paperwork and make your foster a permanent part of your family.
