Dr. Letosha Gale-Lowe brings extensive experience and a deep passion for population health to Fort Bend County. During her first year as Director and Local Health Authority of Fort Bend County’s Health and Human Services, she successfully established the department as an Academic Health Department in collaboration with UTHealth School of Public Health and continued and strengthened the department’s engagement in the PHAB accreditation process, leading to successful accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board. Dr. Gale-Lowe is particularly proud of the workforce engagement initiatives that are transforming the department’s culture, fostering a “ONE VOICE” framework, and breaking down silos.

With over two decades of experience as a physician leader, Dr. Gale-Lowe has served as Chief of Staff and board member at OakBend Medical Center, County Jail Physician, owner of a successful private practice, and Chief Physician with the Houston Health Department. Her compassionate, commonsense, and patient-centered insights have made her a powerful advocate for shaping both people and processes.

Dr. Gale-Lowe earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Fisk University in Nashville, TN, and obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She is currently completing her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Practice at the UTHealth School of Public Health, along with a Certificate in Health Disparities.

A proud resident of Fort Bend County, Dr. Gale-Lowe is grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community’s population health, the place she and her family call home.
