Fort Bend County Health and Human Services (FBCHHS) is accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), a distinction that places the department among a select group of health departments nationwide recognized for meeting rigorous standards of quality, accountability, and service excellence. As the 9th PHAB-accredited health department in the State of Texas, this achievement reflects a strong commitment to continuous improvement and high-performing public health practices. FBCHHS is also an Academic Public Health Department through its formal partnership with the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, further strengthening its role in advancing innovation, collaboration, and workforce development.
The mission of Fort Bend County Health & Human Services (FBCHHS) is to promote and protect the health and well-being of the residents of Fort Bend County through disease prevention and intervention, public health emergency preparedness and response, community engagement, and helping to assure the equitable provision of basic human needs.
