EDMOND H. HARDIN, DEPUTY - Deputy Hardin died in the line of duty on September 15, 1927 at the age of 47. Deputy Hardin was escorting two prisoners from the Needville fairgrounds when he drove into the path of an ascending airplane giving rides at the fair.
