The Public Information Office serves as the Sheriff’s Office liaison to the news media and the community. Public Information Officers (PIOs) establish a positive, professional relationships between the Sheriff’s Office and local, state, and national media. PIOs engage with citizens to strengthen relationships with our diverse communities and seek to enhance public safety.
The Public Information Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office is closed on county holidays. After these hours, email and phone messages will not be read until after 8 a.m. the following business day. For general public inquiries, the Public Information Office can be reached at fbcsopio@fortbendcountytx.gov.
For the Media
Routine media inquiries are handled as expeditiously as possible during normal business hours. After hours, the on-call Public Information Officer (PIO) will respond to immediate news concerns for active scenes. The PIO is unable to provide status reports of previous cases or cases not considered to be breaking news.
